"The
Isometric Exercise"
Learn about Isometric Exercises
A fairly modern form of self resistance is styled as Isometrics, but
really it is a modernized version of self-resistance. Pressing against a
wall with one or both hands would be an isometric exercise, as would
clasping the hands together and trying to pull them apart. As such
isometric exercises are those in which muscle force is applied to a resistant
object and the force is maintained for some time say 6 to 8 seconds.
Isometric exercises are know to increase strength. But
increase in muscle strength occurs at one joint angle. Such exercise are is a
unique a form of strength training to gain maximum strength in the minimum time
possible. However, a schedule comprising only of isometric exercises is not advised.
To get the best out of isometric exercises is to combine it with weight
training routine. Isometric exercises should be blended in to form a complete exercise
routine.
