Home Exercise Equipments
Here you will find the bare minimum home exercise equipment needed to carry
on with your intention of sculpting your body at home. Dumbell:
Two dumbell rods of 15 inches in length and four collars with screws or
patent bolts for securing the weights to the dumbells.
Barbell: Weight-training or barbell sets usually comprise a
steel bar of 1 inch in diameter in varying lengths from 4 ft. to 6 ft. And
four collars with screws or patent bolts for securing the weights to the
barbell. Weights: Weights are made up of discs of different
sizes and vary from 3 inches upwards in diameter. The discs themselves can be
from 0.5 lb to 50 lb in weight and are made of cast iron. However steel discs
are also available but they are costly. Abdominal Board
A wooden board 2 foot 6 inches to 3 foot in length, and 1 foot to 1 feet
6 inches wide, would suit the purpose. You can improvise a bench
by standing it on two further blocks of wood or logs, or even big books, so
that it is not less than a foot high, and not more than 2 feet high. This
will be needed for many of the lying down exercise. For some comfort put a
piece of cloth or sheet on the bench.
This board which can be varied in angle also and has many special uses. One
lies on it with the feet fixed with a strap. It is excellent for an advanced
form of SIT UPS, when the head is at the lower end, by
varying the angle, the exercise becomes harder correspondingly. The other
way round it can also be used for legs raise.
Iron Boots:
These are a type of iron shoes which you wear strapped over your training
shoes or boots. They weigh around 8 lb. each, and underneath have a groove
where you can insert a short dumbell rod to take discs for extra weight and
resistance. Iron boots are used mostly for leg and abdominal work, and offer a wide
scope for those seeking extra powerful leg muscles and muscular separation, and
also for minor remedial purposes. The poundage added depends on the individual. At
first it will be quite enough to try the exercises without any added weight.
Head Harness:
This, as the name implies, is a strap affair which fits on the head and
its special purpose is for neck strengthening exercises. Weights are added
to the special fitting and increased as the exerciser requires. Ok, that was
the minimum home exercise equipment you would need. Let now take up some
exercises. |
